Sophia Michel #6
Sophia is an 8th grader at St. Pius X school, where she excels academically and consistently receives First Honors. Her favorite subjects are Math and Science. She is also a Chorus member. Sophia loves sports and plays soccer and basketball for her school.
She started playing soccer at the age of 5. She is a forward with the Baltimore Celtic 07 Girls Academy team. She loves her team and her teammates, who pushes her to be the best she can be. Although she is a 2008 birth year, she contributes greatly to her team’s success. Her strengths include her speed, ball control, shooting skills, her ability to take on an opponent one on one, and her ability to play other positions as needed by the team. She is dependable and makes every effort to attend all practices and games. You will also find her practicing on her own during her brothers’ soccer practices.
Sophia also understands our responsibility to help others. She volunteers at a Food Pantry, where she assist clients in getting the groceries that they need. She also assists in making sandwiches and providing bagged lunch for the Warm Nights program at her church. Sophia also participates in food drives and coat drives at her school and community.
Sophia is also a member of the Olympic Development Program’s East Region player pool.
